Test Script Generation
The online tools can generate test scripts based on the generated tests. After you have generated tests the test script generation window will appear below the tests.
You can write anything you like in the box. The template will be used for each test to generate a test script. You can insert a value from the a test using the parameter name sorrounded by bar symbols (|). For example, for each test generated, each occurance of |Operating System| will be replaced with the concrete value for that test, for example Windows or Linux.
For example,
Install |Operating system| on the computer.
Will cause this line to occur for a test with Windows:
Install Windows on the computer.
or for a test with linux:
Install Linux on the computer.
You can also have conditionals within the bar-symbols. For example:
Install |Operating System| |if "Operating System" is "Windows" then "Windows Version"| on the computer.
Thus, if the Operating system is windows, then the windows version will be inserted.
Install Windows Vista on the computer.
If the operating system is not windows, then nothing will be inserted.
Install Linux on the computer.
You can include parameters in double quotes or text in single quotes. For example, if a website does not support IP v6, then you can write as follows in the template:
Configure |Protocol stack| on the network pannel. Open the browser and visit www.example.com. Expect to see |if "Protocol stack" is "IPv6" then 'an error message.' else 'the website.'|
Then, when the protocol stack is IPv6 you will get
Configure IPv6 on the network pannel. Open the browser and visit www.example.com. Expect to see an error message.
and for IPv4:
Configure IPv4 on the network pannel. Open the browser and visit www.example.com. Expect to see the website.
Both categories and text can appear after the “then” and after the “else”.
